100 million times agreed.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostHe refused to sign a contract because Ferguson wouldn't give him game time, and then walked straight into Juves team and performed, it will have been a case of Ferguson wanting to try and prove that no one crosses him and it backfiring.

Hard to be judgded compared to 3 of the worlds absolute best players, where two of them have been above all else for almost a decade. And central midfielders rarely get the recognition that offensive players does. As you say he is very very good, and still very young and will likely only get better in the coming years. That said 100m is a very steep price for him - even in this market!Originally posted by Rich View PostI reckon United will sign him for £100m. He's very, very good but I don't think he's as influential as a Messi, Suarez or Ronaldo though.

He's a hard one to call but I see a lot of Gerrard's traits in him, tall, powerful, technically good but what exactly is his best position...? I don't think he is a s good as Gerrard was though. Once they figure that out he could really dominate midfields himself.
Him, Micky Ryan and one of the plethora of other players United have make for an insanely strong midfield. Like everyone I think he is over priced and over rated but he is still a very good player and United can afford it.

At that price then he has to be judged in that bracket IMO. Just as Bale is (and falls just slightly short, again IMO).Originally posted by Darkon View PostHard to be judgded compared to 3 of the worlds absolute best players, where two of them have been above all else for almost a decade. If he's available and you can afford the whole package (probably nearer to £200m) then he's definitely a player you'd want playing for you.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

Similar players - Pogba shades positional sense, Gerrard shades aggression/tackling. I can also see a bit of Yaya Toure in him too, probably more to do with his lanky legs though!

Pogba's very good but we shouldn't get too carried away with comparisons. Gerrard played in the toughest league in the world for a team always on the periphery of CL qualification. His brilliant shooting technique, frequent killer passes, aggression and ability to lead his (usually poor) teams to trophies is, and probably always will be, unmatched by Pogba.Originally posted by Rich View Post

Saying that I would hate for Utd to get him (back). I'd prefer they sign Matuidi instead. Matuidi, Ibra, Micky T and Bailly makes them stronger but in no way makes them untouchable. If that's their lot then we should seriously be looking to leapfrog them on account of them having a new manager, new coaches and a whole host of new first team players. One tit for another.
