There was a time when I wouldn't have thought he'd be a bad option. The backs to the wall mentality and togetherness he used to instil were in some ways what we needed. Together with a knack of never losing at home, and doing pretty well away from home.

To be fair he looks a shadow of himself, his entire demeanour is different at the moment. Reports his father was/is ill when he was at Chelsea last year, if thats still the case that could be a big part of why.

I know what you mean but the rate that the papers have turned on him is not enjoyable to me. 14 years it's taken. It should have been half that, like the rest of us.

That said, it's all falling apart and it's time to revel in it.
