He's a hard one to figure out, hasn't been given a fair chance at RM and might not fancy the more physical EPL. He'll give them quality though especially from set pieces!Originally posted by spud_gun View PostHmmmm I think he's a very good player. Wonder if it's part of the DeGea transfer
Let's hope Ajax tonk them and Hames has a change of heart but DeGea still wants out.

The desperation continues. I so hope the James link is true. Falcao, Di Maria, Martial, Depay, Mikhi, 52-year-old Ibra, and of course Pogba. What a glorious waste of money and time getting and playing big players in a system that could never accommodate them. Plus they lose the 2nd best keeper in the world. Bonus. Money attracts half-arsed mercenaries. One tit for another.

I sat next to a chap once on a flight and he was involved in insurance and one of their clients was Real Madrid. I was told that they, in simple terms, bet against winning the CL. So if they do win, the bonuses are covered by the insurance pay-out. Real Madrid's premium was something like 4.5Million euro but the bonus payment was some 40Million! And that's going back some 10 years! so, you can offer to pay massive bonuses to attract players by covering it with insurance.Originally posted by Bender View PostMadness

Yes you'd think soOriginally posted by Norbs View PostWouldn't they bet on winning it as opposed to against winning it?
Although not really as obviously betting on your own team is illegal!
As implied it's really an insurance policy - a bit like hole in one insurance!Like blood on iron

Yes on the face of it that makes more senseOriginally posted by Norbs View PostWouldn't they bet on winning it as opposed to against winning it?
That said, I am sure there was some weird formula were some kind of fund was built up over non winning years to cover the winning years........ cant remember, I was likely already on the cognac however, the upshot being, the bonuses are covered off in some format.Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but does not actually get you anywhere.

I wouldnt call Ibra a waste of money. He's been brilliant for them. And considering how rich that ****ing club is they could throw double the amount next month and still wouldnt notice it. They've reached a perfect spot in football.Originally posted by BigChief View PostThe desperation continues. I so hope the James link is true. A distant 6th is just perfect for them.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Ibra has totally fecked up their team this year. Zero movement and so the whole team had to be set up to work around him. Which is fine when he's available/not tired/scoring but a complete shambles otherwise.Originally posted by vlahka View PostI wouldnt call Ibra a waste of money. He's been brilliant for them. Had they not signed him Rashford, Martial and Mata could have done some real damage as their team would have practiced being more fluid (despite the obvious bus parking). Ibra was a poisoned chalice choice.
Utd are not a rich man's toy, they have their limits too.One tit for another.
