On the subject of CSKA's goal last night, was it offside or not?
Even tho the defender had slid off the field, I thought he was still deemed as active as he had not been given permission to leave the field by the referee? Yes, momentum took him off the pitch, but you don't punish the other team for that?
EDIT: Never mind, answered my own question;
Rules state that a ‘defending player who leaves the field of play without the referee’s permission shall be considered to be on the goal line for the purposes of offside until the next stoppage in play or until the defending team has played the ball towards the halfway line.’
