He clearly missed us v Real Madrid under BrendanOriginally posted by RoadEnd View PostAlly McCoist

That's the most disappointing performance I've seen from an English team in Europe for many years.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

It's astonishing how badly they played, I think that's the first time I watched a whole game of theirs all season... As clear a game plan they had on Saturday, they looked lost and abject last night. Did they really put so much into the weekend that they ruined themselves for last night?
If you at least put some effort in you can take a loss, but united barely got out of second all night.

Their last 3 games they were unbelievably lucky vs Crystal Palace, raised their game for the first 30 minutes vs us but still got away with some soft decisions and last night was a shockingly bad performance.
Almost to a man they looked like they suffered from stage fright which in itself is bizarre, they're almost all seasoned internationals used to playing in big games.
Oh well

More I watch United the less I am convinced of his gameplan and whether he has oneOriginally posted by labourRed View PostIt's astonishing how badly they played, I think that's the first time I watched a whole game of theirs all season... Its not much more than hit (punt) and hope
They dont go at teams they dont pressurise teams in and out of possession
Its sit back, defend and hope an opportunity comes along on the break when you punt it down field
A mate of mine described them as looking like a late 1980's / early 1990s Wimbledon
I genuinely hope Mourinho stays and they give him another £300m
Looking at their side and barring the keeper I am not sure I would buy any of their players to put in our sideBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I think Rasford and Martial are being wasted there and Matic is good for that job he does but at some point he needs to take Sanchez out of the team, or at least he should.
That's what Gerrard said post match, "they need three or four more players" however Scholes was quick to pipe up with, "we keep saying they need that, but nothing changes."
It's clear there's a common denominator at play but hopefully he stays until at least 2020.

Hahaha, got no more than they deserved. Why anyone thought they would breeze through is baffling, Seville ain't a bad side and United aren't agreat team anymore.
Haven't heard a pip from some of my united supporting mates since last night after three days of hell. I'll have to check up on em, make sure they're okay

Glad everyone is seeing Sanchez for what he is, my arsenal mad nephew absolutely hated him, was always going on about him giving the ball away. I thought he was mad until he forced me to watch a couple of their games, he was over the moon when they sold him. Mind you, they haven't done much better with the signings of Mikhitaryan and Aubameyang though.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I agree that they have no identity. I think Jose was successful in implementing his template quite a few times now, and it is basically pretty attritional football relying on the quality of individuals in his attack to get the odd goal and win. The fact is they have signed players good enough to mask an overall deficiency in team ethos. Jose clearly has enough about him to set the odd tactical trap, but beyond that, in giving Man U fans the football they want to see? I dont think so.
What I see with them now, is that there is not a complete buy in to the tactics he is setting out. He has some pretty expensive square pegs that he is having to bash into round holes. At least with us, we have an identity, we have a style of play that we know is very effective on its day, and we are starting to have a squad that fits this. We have sold the players who didn't fit in (Big Bentekkers, Sturrridge. Sakho etc.) so the players left seem to be 100% behind the managers vision.
He doesnt seem capable of managing Pogba at all, and it is baffling as to his plans with Sanchez. Neither of them deserve a place in the team on form, but how do you bench the egos and salaries?
****ing amazing

All they did against us was pump balls to Lukaku and look for flick onsOriginally posted by Pablo View PostYep, all they did last night in an attacking sense was ping long diagonal balls to Fellaini and get him to nod them back into the box. It was incredibly grim.
The only one who looked to be a level above and show some invention was Rashford.
