Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly willing to offer Paul Pogba the Manchester United captaincy in a bit to convince the Frenchman to stay at Old Trafford.

Pogba has been repeatedly linked with a move away from United this summer, with Real Madrid a likely destination.

But according to ESPN, Solskjaer is willing to offer the 26-year-old the armband in a bid to keep him at the club ahead of a squad overhaul this summer.

It seems unlikely that he'll stay, but I'd love this to happen, as good a player as he can be his attitude and lack of work rate epitomises everything that has been wrong with them this season, holding him up as an example by making him captain would be special

Remember when at the start of the transfer window we’d be linked to some amazing expensive player and we’d get all excited only for it to be nothing a week later then end up going for some low end, cheap back up option. It’s nice to see them in that position. Plus losing players and being poorly run. Makes it so much sweeter. Long may it continue.

They have massive problems, which I have to say is just ****ing wonderful

They have players who dont want to be there. Players who really dont give a **** and count money. Ageing/past their sell by date players. Very average and over rated players. Instagram muppets. In short, Martial is the only decent player the have and Mourinho destoyed him

If the stuff about De Gea not signing a new contract is true (and to be honest him signing the last one baffled me when he clearly wanted out then). Are they going to sell him this summer and get some money or will they keep him for a year and let him leave for nothing?

I'd always wanted him to leave because for a couple of years I thought he was all that was holding them together, but if his form of this season is going to continue I wouldn't mind him staying for another year
