I think Phil McNulty on the BBC is utterly dreadful, but he's come up with a couple of gems to describe last night's game.

"'The Theatre of Dreams' drowned in a downpour of rain and mediocrity""

"In the context of a meaningful Premier League title challenge, this was the sporting equivalent of two bald men fighting over a comb. "

    Oh I don't know.

I was about to paste exactly that! Such a brilliantly accurate line though.

        All of that

        Another few quotes from Phil:

A great rivalry drowned in a downpour of mediocrity'

While no-one expected a repeat of previous classics, this was sobering proof of just how far behind Liverpool and Manchester City these two clubs are.
The Solskjaer bounce has flatlined spectacularly. They have won 49 points from their 28 Premier League games under the Norwegian, two fewer than in their final 28 under sacked Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United and Arsenal's combined points tally is the same as Liverpool's after their seven straight wins. All very stark but also a very realistic reflection of where they are.
        Another MASSIVE game

If they have 49 points from his 28 games that breaks down as:
                Temporary Manager 13 games 32 pts (2.46pts/game)
                Permanent manager 15 games 17pts (1.13pts/game)

                That's quite the turnaround
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The fa should have drug tested the team, Ole spiking the lucozade with a little dab just to make sure he gets the job

Amazing how so many of The Scum fans seemingly don’t watch the football anymore

They epitomise everything I hate about these Glory Hunting ****ers - one or two bad seasons & they start abandoning ship & looking towards $ity

We supported through thick & thin; even through the dark days of Woy & Hicks & Gillett… ****e like Charlie Adam, Andy Caroll, Fabio Borini, Andre Voronin, Christian Benteke etc never mind all the dross during Spice Boys era… it's a very long list!

Long may their decline continue.... I'm savouring every moment
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

                    Batman

                    F*** off!!!

I've seen the same - every one of them i know, without exception has stopped watching games, stopped talking about football entirely. It's truly bizzare.

Barcelona and France winger Ousmane Dembele, 22, is among three forwards Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to recruit as part of his ongoing squad rebuild. (Manchester Evening News)

Yep he will be desperate to go there having turned down PSG........

I've read bits and pieces which suggest he's got a bad attitude and isn't making the most of his ability.

So a pretty good fit for the Mancs.
