At least they are singing about themselves for a change rather than us.

Also, it's a shame Ian Dennis didn't speak up to label some of their chanting against us on Sunday a disgrace (references to S*n, Murderers etc).

I would say they are a minimum of 5 years from challenging again. But in all probability, probably much longer.

It took Klopp 4 years to get us to where we are now, and we were never that bad. And that was Klopp. Where would they find a Klopp from? There is Poch available, but he's not even close to being that good.

We already had the off field structure in place, we just needed that figurehead to bring it all together and overhaul the squad. And it took 4 years.

United have none of that structure right now. It's a complete mess. Still looking for a DoF after what, 18 months? That in itself is unbelievable. No vision, no structure - just making do with the consequences of one bad decision after another.

Here is question though - why has Woodward not resigned yet? He's getting piled on by everyone, and while not everything is his fault, a lot of it stops with him. The Glazers seem to be happy, but he can't be happy with his own work. I can't believe he hasn't quit.

      Maybe he will.
      Oh I don't know.

Yeah, if you take our lowest point as Hodgson then the start of the return as being Brendan. It’s taken forever.

And then we had the sheer luck of landing Klopp. His demise at Dortmund timed perfectly with Brendan going off the rails, and us starting to fall away again (I recall getting beat 6-1 at Stoke).

The mad thing is that they are still fifth, but next season could be a really bad one for them if they don’t start to turn it around.
          Modifying post.

Woodward must be on a serious wedge, he's never going to fall on his sword, glazers don't know what to do and so long as they are getting their slice they will be ambivalent.
The whole structure and ground is falling apart, it's the stuff of dreams
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Highest paid football CEO apparently... £3.3m a year

Was pivotal in bringing in the Glazers so they love him
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

              Batman

It took City about that long too from a standing start.

                Chelsea, less so.

But in either case, you have to bring in an elite manager and get an elite set up in place off the pitch (sports wise, as well as commercially).

They literally have none of that. I mean, Solskjaer. That would be like us going for Robbie Fowler.

And the commercial and broadcasting revenue will start drying up already.
                Oh I don't know.

The thing is, if they get the right manager in (no idea who that is), they have the money to accelerate the process, by overpaying for the right talent

It would still take 3-4 years, I'd imagine, but i think the cycles in football are shorter these days...

I'm not sure they will have so much money going forward. There's only so many years you can go without CL football. The stadium will stop selling out. The commercial tie ups won't be renewed at the same rates, let alone increased ones.

They are already stalling on one deal over cost. The empire is crumbling.

Absolutely not picking at that but I think we were back at our peak last season, and that's pure praise for Klopp. 97pts is virtually as good as it has ever been up until this season, it was only because of those oil funded freaks

                        2015 - 2019

Give or take. But the world has changed and to win the league takes something approaching triple figures in points. Where will they find someone to take them to those levels?

But, yes. We were properly good last season too.
                        Oh I don't know.

They'll still have cash, just not the eye watering sums of the past.

You cannot underestimate the importance of CL football. Not just for the prize money, but for the knock on effects it has on recruitment, endorsements, and general perceptions of a club by potential partners and staff (players and managers included).

Apparently they have massive deals coming up though after adidas and Chevrolet, but we'll see if they come to fruition.

They've still got a fair amount in the bank tbf but they'll need it.

Apparently they're after Jude Bellingham - he looks a real prospect. But he's 16 and the money is £30m. It'd be hilarious if he rejects them.
