Early days but I'm not too proud to say I was wrong and the likes of redreet were bang on with their pre season predictions of where this utd team will be. Being a pessimistic person, I always worry about these lot but some of you were so strong in your convictions and so far so good.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. How much of this would you guys pin on Ronaldo?
I think this has absolutely everything to do with him. He's waltzed straight into the team no questions asked, sulks if he isn't played despite being 36, doesn't run, his attitute seems to stink and he's selfish af, those around him are now being lazy, they've lost Cavani's pressing, he's keeping Sancho out of the team.
Have I missed anything? The attitude of all of their players has gone seriously downhill

Sort of but I’d pin it on Solskjaer for getting Ronaldo and playing him, more than pinning it on Ronaldo himself. At the end of the season Ronaldo’s season will be deemed a success- he’ll prob get 20+ goals, but all the other strikers will be worse off. There’ll be a narrative of where would united have been without him- like his late winner against villareal for example, but in reality if he wasn’t on the pitch, they might not have needed the late winner…
United were never after him until it looked like he was going to city- even though they had just given cavani a new deal and spunked 80m on sancho, they also say yaaaa let’s take him too, and pay him 600k a week… jokers!
For me, the issue with him is that they didn’t buy a player for the way they want to play- they bought a striker and then start thinking about how they should play to have him in the team.I don't tip

Clearly he is still a top player, but as I mentioned a while back he's a luxury player, he won't put in the hard yards and run back and work for the team. Fernandes and Pogba are similar players, maybe you can get away with one of those types of players in your side but not 2 or 3. They were making a big issue of the young players (Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho etc) learning from him, (I remember there was a big thing about him not eating pudding so none of the other players having any) hopefully they have been looking at his laziness and that too is starting to rub offOriginally posted by wiw View PostHow much of this would you guys pin on Ronaldo?

I mentioned previously I thought that their front line at the back end of last season was starting to look good, but they have ripped that up to accommodate Ronaldo and gone for individual brilliance over team work, and I think the signing of Ronaldo epitomises that.
Their problems run deeper than just that though, Neville was saying that they as a team cover less ground than any other side and was highlighting the difference between players like Rashford and Greenwood compared to the likes of Park and Rooney in previous Man Utd teams. Their fans keep going on about them having one of the best PL teams on paper, but again this is as a collection of individuals they don't have a system or a style of play and there in lies the problem. I am caught between thinking that a semi-decent manager could come in and make them into a top 4 side, and thinking like Roy Keane said this group of players did for Mourinho and will do for Ole and am thinking are they need major changes in both attitude and personnel.
But Ole thinks that they are making alot of progress and are close to where they need to be, and who are we to argue
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
