7/10 for Hojland seems very generous.
    Modifying post.

They need a manager who is good enough to command respect and pragmatic enough to put their ego aside to intall a proper football setup with a full sporting director. Wont happen. Only managers that could do that would probably be Zidane and Simeone. Neither of which would come.

De Zerbi would get chewed up and spat out again in 18 months.

Its funny as **** that Utd dont have a sporting director though, everyone has one now. Seems basically essential to success in the modern game.
      *Except Michael, who died.

        It does a little.

I've seen him a few times and liked what I've seen. Obviously needs to add goal scoring to his game but he gets into good positions, big strong and has a good turn of pace.

Proper coaching and he could turn into a worldie. The problem is he's at Man U and the last 10 years have shown they don't bring players on the way they used to.

Whether he turns into the next Haaland or Heskey remains to be seen

I find this really odd too, I know Neville complains about this too as a failing of the ownership. It seems bizarre that they will spend £60-80m on a players and pay them £200k+ a week but wouldn't appoint a sporting director for a fraction of that which would give them a coherent plan in targeting appropriate players particularly when this is how most managers have worked.Ten Hag did a good job at Ajax when they had a good football setup behind the scenes. I don't think he's a bad manager, which to be fair applies to most of the people they have had since Ferguson, the problem is the lack of a coherent plan and buying players who look good but not understanding how their previous teams were setup to get the best out of them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Neither do I. I think he will go back to Ajax when he gets the heave ho. Should turn them back around again.

But yeah, he had Overmars above him before that scandal too.

He must be desperate to get out of Utd. He looks totally miserable.

When Fergie went to UTD, he also had problems with players (big drinking problem, big egos, underperforming) and the club was also looking for new ownership (Michael Knighton, later Rupert Murdoch). Fergie also bought a whole heap of overpriced, underperforming players. He was one game from from being sacked (Forest - FA Cup semi??).
                  Another MASSIVE game

Neil Warnock: 🗣️ “I don’t think Erik ten Hag will last much longer as Man Utd manager. I’m not sure he wants to last either. I don’t see a happy environment. I think he knows he’s banging his head against a brick wall.

"The money that he’s spent, people forget. Whatever you think about the owners they've spent some massive money. Some of the players he’s spent £60/70m on I wouldn’t have had at Huddersfield!”

                      Brutal 🤣🤣

They are definitely filling the papers with all the speculation etc

Manchester United are exploring alternatives to manager Erik ten Hag, who is considered to be "on thin ice", with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim and ex-Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane possible replacements. (Times - subscription needed)

It would cost Manchester United more than £15m in compensation if they were to sack Ten Hag this season. (Football Insider)

A number of Manchester United players have not agreed with the strict way Ten Hag has treated the England duo of winger Jadon Sancho, 23, and 30-year-old defender Harry Maguire, although there are also those in the squad who believe in the Dutchman's authoritarian approach. Manchester United want to recruit another striker to support Denmark's Rasmus Hojlund as concerns grow over the development over the 20-year-old. (Mail)

How does casemiro get 7/10?? £52m + £73m in wages over 4 years- for a 30 year old. If they were already the finished article you’d say fair enough, but when ten hag took over, best case scenario he’s prob 4/5 years away from their goal of having a team capable of winning a title. You don’t build a team like that by buying players that will need replacing after 2 years or so. Some signings don’t work out, but this one was never really going to I reckon.

Also even on his performances last year, was he 7/10?! He got sent off 3 times last season!
                                I don't tip
