Football Finance expert Kieran Maguire says Manchester United are "on the right side" of the Profit and Sustainability line "but do not have much wiggle room" for the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the Football Daily Podcast, Maguire said: "I estimated that the losses over the last three seasons are broadly in the region of £100m and you are allowed to lose £105m. That does not give them scope to buy without also having to look at the exit door.
"The wage levels at Manchester United are the third highest in the Premier League and they have traditionally been the highest. They are also in the top five within Europe, so that gives them the further problem of trying to persuade players to move on if the contracts being offered are not the same."
Manchester United have failed to lift a European trophy since 2017 and this has been costly to their finances.
And with two games remaining they are in with a chance of qualifying for the Europa Conference League, but Europa League looks increasingly less likely.
So would the Conference League be lucrative enough for a club the size of Manchester United?
"Not really," Maguire added. "They would have to win the tournament.
"They would make money from ticket sales but the prize money is pretty marginal. Plus you need to have a squad that is big enough to play Sunday and Thursday."
"We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies."
Sounds like Getafe want to keep Greenwood. They'll only want to pay bottomless dollar though.
I could see a raft of mid to lower level teams in for the all action but limited McT.
More than once over the past two or three seasons, I would have loved to have seen him in our team tbh.
Think he might have blossomed under a manager like Klopp and would imo have been either a cracking DM or a cracking Henderson replacement (had we replaced Henderson a season earlier than we did)
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

How on earth are United having little wiggle room and Chelsea are still going after Brazil wonderkids?
Chelsea sold a hotel to their owners in order to avoid being in breach of the rules.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Utd spend literally £1k per day on the rat problem, the Megastore have to seal every crevice before close to ensure they don't have an invasion, that's before the rest of the issues there, ****ing hundreds of issues at that dump
