With Quansah, Konate, VVD and Gomez there, we were never going to fork out that type of money for an 18 year old. We just don't do that type of business. Man United on the otherhand just like to spend money although he is meant to be a real talent.

I think Ratcliffe is going to have a massive impact on the club. He'll add a positive and intelligent structure to things, I see them being a force again within the next 5 years.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostThey seem to have finally got a plan regarding transfers. It had to happen eventually. More luck on the injury front and they're definitely pushing top 4. Manager is still suspect although 2 trophies in 2 seasons.Glass half empty club

I don't think it'll take 5 years. Two or three consecutive good transfer windows might be all that's required. We're tight on spending and under transition, spurs are spurs, villa won't maintain the level, city have a season of pep and it might start to fall away if he departs. Be interesting to see if arsenal push on.Originally posted by fabinho View PostI think Ratcliffe is going to have a massive impact on the club. I think they'll be challenging again before that, my 5 year thing was about them being considered as one of the very top clubs again. I see the entire infrastructure being improved under Ratcliffe, and he'll want them competing with Real Madrid, not just battling for the EPL.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI don't think it'll take 5 years.
