Predictably, ten Hag is talking about the 2 domestic cup wins in his post match again

Hey don't knock the man's achievements his success means that he deserves more time, they should offer him a new contract
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

When I read about it, it made little sense, but having seen the BBC article about it, I guess there was a method to his madness....he needed a goal, and maybe saw a set piece as a viable option to get one.

At the time of the substitution, the only players left on the bench were Maguire, Evans, Lindelof, Ugarte and Collyer (plus 2 goalkeepers). And if you want a goal from a set piece, Maguire and either Lindelof or Evans would be your picks.

So we laugh, but at 3-2 down and having subbed on your attacking players already, options were limited.

It was a massive gamble. At the time it looked mental and if they’d lost…. But… it paid off

The endless cycle of them sticking with bang average managers is glorious!

Given their resources, how on earth is that their bench still?

Garnacho, Anthony and Zirkzee (admittedly all not brilliant) has already come on by that point.

Maguire was £80m, Lindelof £35m, Ugarte £40m that's over £150m Add to that Zirkzee £40m and Antony £85m that's £280m on 5 subs the rest were youth products or picked up on frees or minimal fees. I think the issue is how well they spent their money.

Yeah, suppose so, one of the worst run club at the moment probably. No idea how they are going to get out of this Ten Haag problem as well, they could give it to Ruud, but it's still a bit tricky, these temps can be so difficult, you never know if the results are due to the brilliance of the temp or simply because the previous manager was so poor.

Did he not turn it down in the summer?

…Scott Mctominay scored again for table topping Napoli at the weekend FWIW

5 games, 2 goals and an assist.

Yes, I read Tuchel turned it down due to the level of control that would now be with the CEO instead of the manager. Though I also did read that one of the discussions in the summer ended quickly after a lowball salary offer from United, so who knows really

Whatever the reason was, I am sure he has the upper hand in negotiations now.

                            It wont end well.

Yep that's fair, if he goes back in. They'll be desperate if / when they talk to Tuchel again
