That makes about 500 job losses I think. Not defending them in any way, but how can there be 500 people employed that aren't in positions core to putting a team on the pitch?

I think most are focused on the London base with a view to Manchester being the sole place of business

The irony is that with Rashford off the payroll that equates to 520 members of staff on £35k. He was basically earning 10 people's annual wages every week.
        It's obscene

Apparently, according to ChatGPT, at end May '23 we had about a thousand full time staff. 700 admin/commercial/other, 240 players and coaching staff and 70 ground staff.

Another 2,000 or so part-time & match-day staff on top of that.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

At the end of last season, United’s average number of monthly employees stood at 1,140 — the largest workforce of any single Premier League club, although Liverpool recorded 1,008 employees at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
                Oh I don't know.

One of the arguments for the higher number is the higher level of activities that come with a larger brand - not sure how much I buy that argument to be honest (assumes no scale benefits at all) but the optics are terrible, just a week after disclosing they spent 4.5m quid getting rid of their old sporting director

It’s going to get even worse when they have only one person left to do the cooking!

They should do it like Musk - everyone email in 5 things they accomplished last week and if you can’t you are out

Fairly sure the catering is all outsourced anyway.

It wasn't before 2021, unless they changed it since

Manchester United will have to pay a total of £20m to head coach Ruben Amorim and his backroom staff if the club chooses to sack them.
                                From the beeb gossip.
