I dont think hes a great player, hes capable of great things but not consistent enough lately & imo on his way down. The scum would do well to sell him for anything over 30 mill.

Yep he's so streaky...scores loads in short bursts then goes ages without contributing. Too unreliable. A lot of Mancs I know want to sell him. I'd take him obviously but he's so ****ing overrated.

speaking to a Manc mate about this yesterday, feels exactly the same would happily see him sold as long as the money was used to invest in the squad, was moaning about the Ronaldo money just seemed to disappear!

Amazes me with Rooney that journo's and pundits still try to put him in the same bracket as the Barca boys & Ronaldo - not even close to their level!

To suggest that Rooney isn't a great player seems ridiculous to me. Of course he's wildly overrated but then, great players nearly always get overrated. He isn't world class, which plenty of people call him (hence overrated) & yeah, the lack of consistency is where he falls short of being world class.

Then again, Messi & Ronaldo have set the 'world class' bar SO high that it's hard to see anyone at all who reaches those levels of brilliance & genius on a virtually weekly basis. Not even Xavi, IMO, comes close to matching that pair.

If Xavi isn't world class then I don't know who is

If this is true, where will him go? He'll go for a huge fee but I can't see really him going to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Which basically leaves Chelsea, Man City or PSG. I can't see him wanting to move to the French league. Man City would be the best option but is he willing to move from Utd to City?

I can't see there being any moves for him to be honest.

Maybe then Messi & Ronaldo need to be categorised as something above 'world class' because what they produce virtually every week is in a higher class than anyone else, including Xavi.

City haven't replaced Tevez & would jump at the chance to sign Rooney IMO onion.

I think City would like to sign him, but would he have the bottle to make the move across the city? For me that would be the issue.

I actually think Real Madrid would be interested in him. He's a Mourinho type of player after all. I.E. a c***.

it's almost got to that stage

Xavi's incredible without doubt but I find it hard to take what he contributes & equate it to around 50 goals a season and a player who scores with a ratio of a goal per game.
