The ones who still win during these periods, win titles.

Oh they do, I don't rate him as a manger though, you gave the money he's spent and some of the players he's bought in to Mourinho or Rafa for example and I think they'd be well clear now and not out in the group stages of the CL.

Aguero is excellent but some shocking finishing at times, think him and Suarez are similar in that respect but Luis will miss one he's created himself and Aguero will get five laid on a plate for him by Silva and co.

Agree re the CL - i think the league title and the maintained level of consistency required for it is a different kettle of fish and no matter how much you spend, players will always have the odd 'off day' where they dont play well, arent up for it or simply dont get the rub of the green. I think that's just part and parcel of football and you cant legislate for it or prevent it, even if you do spend bucketloads. All you can do is try to win regardless of performance, when you have one of those days.
