Windass probably has a nice mortgage-free house and atleast 50-100 grand in savings at bare minimum and can't be arsed getting a regular job like the rest of us so therefore feels sorry for himself and needs to drink all the time. Its always me me me with people like him. Iv met plenty of them. And then when everyone else gets sick of it they become lonely and attention seeking.

If he's pissed away all his earnings then he should shut the **** up, grow some balls, get a regular job and live a normal life.
Yes, because getting a normal job with no experience or qualifications is a ****ing doddle.

His exact point is that they [retired pro footballers] have few transferable skills to fall into normal life. Thats the ****ing problem. They do the job they have always wanted to do as a kid, they focus on it so much they don't get the normal life experience everyone else does. They hit the age they cant do the job any more and then they are told off you go, find something to do with your time. The life he knew was changed, as he said he never had anything to help him with the transition

He isnt ****ing asking for a silver platter for the rest of his life. He isnt syaing he cant be ****ing arsed. He is saying he and others need help transferring.

Too weak to face normal life. Well if he doesnt have that mental strength then obviously he needs help. Doesnt matter if you have 50p or £50 million if you have mental weaknesses you have mental weaknesses.

Just because he earned a lot of money doesnt make him any less deserving of help. Doesnt make him less needy and doesnt make him any more worthy of abuse.

Precisely! There are millions in much worse conditions desperately looking for work that pays a half-decent wage. Then there are footballers who earned millions from their careers but spent it just as fast because they thought they were better than the rest.

If you retire after being on a half a million pound salary and you haven't put a decent amount aside for yourself to start a business afterwards or be comfortable enough to go into education then your a ****.

Didnt he used to work for Soccer Saturday, reporting on games? What happened there, why isnt he doing it anymore?

Beyond that he has to work like all of us now that his dream pay package i s over and he flushed it all down the drain.
I think you miss the point when he wants help off the FA, he doesnt want a hand out but after football care for players, support, advice and what not

I think it's because he kept tripping over his tongue:

Yourte right. He is a ****ing prick. Save actually trying to help him we should euthanise him for being a dick and spending all that money when he was a pro thinking he was Bertie Bi Bollocks.

Oh wait, sorry, I read the article and noticed he did save, he did plan wiseley for hit future but his changing circumstances was what he couldnt cope with. Made a bad decision in life and lost it all in a downward spiral. No different to those lads that come out the army and struggle to ajust.

No need to be ****ing snobby and smug about.

Dont see why you find it so hard to graps that the size of your bank balance has zero, absolute ****ING ZERO, effect on your mental health.

I know people who have depression and yes it can happen to everyone. But the ones I know and care about are the ones who have had extremely difficult lives and live in extremely difficult circumstances.

Footballers who earn half a million a year and live lifestyles that result in them losing touch with reality and acting like complete dickheads and then are too weak to face a normal life afterwards won't get in sympathy from me because there other people out there who deserve attention more than them.
