Yeah and, even if he did, it was with a squad with the likes of Modric and Benzema on the bench. Real Madrid probably have a better squad than Barca. It wouldn't have been a massive achievement.

Boring press conference. He really doesn't look happy. Like I said before, it's all a bit lethargic and dull.

I don't mind him tbh but the hype around today is well over the top

You know if they United job had of been offered he'd have been all over that, I still fancy if it ever came up again he'd be off like a shot if offered as well.

I don't think he will get offered that one. After all they knew he was leaving Madrid so timing would've been perfect for him. He will only ever stay at a club for a few years then move on in my opinion

I'm not so sure. A couple of trophy-less seasons at old toilet and they'll be in for him like a shot.

Fergie told me he was retiring months ago and knew the only job for me was back at Chelsea, claims Mourinho

                              By Rob Draper

                              PUBLISHED: 22:00, 15 June 2013 | UPDATED: 22:00, 15 June 2013

Jose Mourinho has claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson confided in him ‘months ago’ over his plan to retire as manager of Manchester United. And he insists that in the same conversation he told Ferguson the job he wanted more than any other was back at Chelsea.

United’s appointment of David Moyes as Ferguson’s successor last month has been seen as a snub to Mourinho, considered by many as the natural successor to Sir Alex.

But, according to Mourinho’s account following his return to Chelsea last week, he had already told Ferguson he would go back to Stamford Bridge if owner Roman Abramovich wanted him.

‘I knew Ferguson was retiring many months ago,’ said Mourinho. ‘I am his friend to know he is going to retire, and he is my friend to know that the club I want to coach in England is Chelsea. I would turn down everyone in the world — not just the United job — for Chelsea.’

Mourinho has been in conciliatory mood on his return to Stamford Bridge, praising Michael Emenalo, the technical director, and revealing what he says is the truth about the 2006 signing of Andriy Shevchenko, the deal thought to have soured his relationship with the club.

Emenalo is said to have offered to resign in preparation for Mourinho’s return, a suggestion rejected by Abramovich, who told the Nigerian he will continue to direct transfer strategy.

Mourinho insists he is content with that. ‘You cannot just find a player when he is 24, 25, 26 and in the best moment of his career,’ he said. ‘You have to start before that, and you cannot do it without a structure. Michael and his staff will provide me with the kind of information I need.’

Mourinho contends that no manager ever has autonomy over transfers and now denies that the purchase of Shevchenko in 2006, widely viewed as the pet project of Abramovich, was the cause of his downfall at the club.

‘Nobody ever has total control,’ said Mourinho. ‘We wanted to buy Samuel Eto’o and the owner was more than ready to bring him here. In the end, Barcelona said: “We don’t sell.” After that we went for other options.

‘I was happy with Shevchenko. But even when you buy for 40, 50, 60 million, sometimes it just doesn’t work.’
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He is sooo ****ing transparent. I hope this all goes tits up for him I really do, if ever a guy needed a lesson in humility. Its a different Chelsea this time round, Terry and Lamps at the end of their careers and no Drogba. A lot of these players have won trophies under other managers (all of them really) and it may not be so easy for him to wank off this squad in search for their acceptance. When he first went in he built his own team, this time he inherits a quality squad. Can they all handle his gargantuan ego - we will wait and see.
