They got fined £25k for failing to properly control their players after the James sending off against us.

I watched about 25 mins of their game today, Saul was absolutely shocking and hooked at halftime.

Took way too long on the ball, obviously not registered with him how much faster the prem is than la Liga. Hilarious.

I was looking for a ‘highlights’ reel because he was supposed to have shocking......... looked bad. I still stand by the fact that he is a superb player but he clearly didnt expect the pace or physicality of the Premier League. Then you could see he lost his head completely.

The one thing that every club will do in the EPL is give it 100% and fight - in Spain the teams still play open football and allow you time. Look how long Klopp took to integrate Fabinho to where he is now.

I hope he continues in that vein and bombs for them

I didn’t think he was THAT BAD based on that. Not great but not an absolute train wreck. All players take time to adjust to the pace on the game in England so as much as I hope he bombs badly I’m sure he’s better than that.

He was terrible, a better side could have put three past Chelsea all directly from him being dispossessed in an area of the field where you can't afford to lose it.

What that compilation doesn't show, is how those ball losses resulted in direct opportunities for villa or how little influence he had on the game overall.

So actually it is a kinder view of his debut than if you'd watched the match.

He can of course still be a good signing for them but just goes to show that the prem is a step up. Especially as a CM, you can't be dithering about on the ball.
