José Mourinho has revealed that Brendan Rodgers called him to congratulate him on his Chelsea side’s win at Liverpool on Sunday.
Rodgers had accused the west Londoners of “parking two buses” at Anfield in his post-match news conference after the Blues secured a 2-0 victory to end his side’s 11-game winning streak and dent their Premier League title hopes.
But Mourinho, who Rodgers worked under as a coach during his first stint in charge at Stamford Bridge, says that the Northern Irishman was in a more philosophical mood two days after the loss.
“You know, pundits are pundits and I don’t want to comment a lot,” said Mourinho.
“Brendan is a manager and he’s somebody who I consider my friend. I met him a long time ago when he was a very young coach, coaching kids – and I consider him a friend.
“I know his words after the match but I also know his words today, and today he told me, ‘Congratulations for a great victory and a great performance’.
“So especially because he’s someone who I consider a friend and that I like, I forget the words after the match and I keep the words of today.
“I think after the match he watched it on video and saw what happened.”

My word, he really sold it to the people didnt he. That he never spent a penny at Chelsea. Wow
Consider the squad he's got. Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Salah, Matic etc. and he is getting pity
Those five players cost nearly as much as our whole starting XI.

Launched onto Hazard in his press conference
Mourinho on Hazard: "He is not the kind of player ready to sacrifice himself 100% for the team." #CFC
Asked if he was happy with Hazard's defensive commitment, he told reporters: "No, I'm not happy. He needs to improve."
Trying to completely shift the blame of the semi final loss on to Hazard.
Watch the media swoon with him. Mind games blah blah blah.

What a mess he's gotten into. Openly slagging off his star player to deflect the blame from himself. Nice guy.Originally posted by peekay View PostLaunched onto Hazard in his press conference

I can just hear Darren Gough on TalkSport later calling it "genuis man management from Mourinho"Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostNah, he's just pissed off about Hazards comments after the match.
Don't fall into the ******s trap and over analyze his **** as "mind games".
It's not, it's toys out of the pram, egotistical hissy fit time from Jose. Very rarely does that type of public flogging of a player reap rewards.
