Admit it. You misread his post.

I genuinely didn't. Just threw it out there. For someone supposed to be one of the great finishers, never scoring 20 league goals in a season is a major flaw in his case.

Ok Ok. I take your point. He is always lauded as a 20+ goal a season man. People assume it was in the league. You have too be good to get over 20 in the PL. No question.

Would have to say on pure finishing Shearer and Ruud van horseface.

But having said that for the best part of 2 seasons I have never been so sure in a striker scoring than when Torres had the ball .......now he has gone to Chelsea its quite the opposite

It's quite hard to find statistics with goals pr. game og pr. minute over the history of the PL, would be interesting.

Was also thinking that Andy Cole must be quite high on the list, considering the amount of goals he scored at his prime.

Not sure at what point this was - think it may have been at the end of Torres 2nd season with us or maybe even by the time he left - but he was the most prolific striker in PL history in terms of goals per minutes played. Demba Ba now holds that mantle but of course he's played substantially fewer games/minutes.

Yes, I can find it for a single season, but not over time. Think Hernandez had the best ratio last season, so obviously it far from tells the entire story, but would be interesting to compare the players mentioned here.

Are we differenciating between Goal Scorer and Finisher. Because as someone said. Solskjar is up there. So is Henrik Larrson in his short time at Utd.

Andy Cole doesn't deserve a mention in this or any other thread, unless it's about how many chance he needs before he scores a goal. He should have been on 60 goials a season at United, but he regularly missed chance after chance, and still ended up getting well over 20 goals most seasons.
                      Oh I don't know.

Aye Solskjaer was a superb finisher.

Why Premier League anyway? Football started 120 years ago.
                              Oh I don't know.
