Don't think England could have expected any better in general. Not his fault we have failed to produce good enough young players.

agree with that but i dont think hes maximised whatever hes had. Im not sure where he was when rafa was in charge because during that period gerrard was at his best off torres. Why didnt he pair rooney with gerrard and build the midfield to support them ?

Gerrard scored twenty a season and probably set up another 20 from that position. Then play parker and probably barry in midfield with young right and downing left. Gerrard drops in when england dont have the ball and moves between their defence and midfield when england do.

for me thats the best way forward for this coming tournament. Thats the best chance england have got.

If there was a poll on a Spurs site about whether they'd prefer Owen Coyle or Rafa for next manager Coyle would win it by a landslide, same with Hodgson, Moyes etc. It's utterly bizarre.
