I hate Purslow even more

Emiliano Insua once told me he wanted to stay at Liverpool but Purslow wanted him out. Even Roy Hodgson wanted to keep him. True story.

Insua showed some tremendous promise when he was first introduced to the first team - way more than Robinson and Flanagan.

The second season he was thrust into the limelight unfortunately and did not do well. He should not have played so much games in that season. He should have been rested and used sparingly and allowed to work himself back into form. Ferguson is great at that. When young players go through a **** phase, he protects them, uses them sparingly in comfortable situations, and slowly brings their confidence back.

We should have done the same with Insua. Instead he was made a scapegoat. I am not saying he will be a world class full back or anything. But I think he will develop into a very good fullback justifying his place in the squad.

Instead we spunk 4.5 million on Konchesky plus our two brightest prospects ( one of which has began to get involved in PL games).
