How long before a club goes under?

Its got to be getting close?

Portsmouth look like they could be on the brink unless they find a buyer who will plough a load of money in, I know that they have been here before but the further they fall down the league the less appealing prospect they are

Rangers are in a mess and look like they need to let a load of players leave to balance the books

Dunfermline have been effected by Rangers going into administration and are suffering cash flow issues,

Port Vale have requested a loan to keep them going

Darlington were 2 days from going into liquidation

Both Coventry and Birmingham have had transfer embargo's put on them today for failure to produce accounts on time

Whats the answer, do we need number of teams to reduce in order to maintain football as we know it?

Teams should stop paying stupid wages and shouldn't be allowed to rack up huge tax bills.

Yep, in what other industry does >70% of the turnover get paid to the staff?

Even in the entertainment industry (films etc) that can't be the case surely.

The whole thing is a charade.

Villa have got to be one of them, no?

          Income of 90 million
          Out goings of 140 million

Only so long Lerner is going to keep putting his hand in his pocket for them.

Maybe if one or two are allowed to go under, the rest will get their finances in order.

If my VAT return is a week late I'm slapped with a fine and start getting threats from HMRC. Twice in a row and you're royally ****ed. Football clubs seem to be able to rack up a couple of years in arrears

                    Kettering and treading water too.

Some bright spark had the idea to fine them £3,000 for not settling football creditor debts so therefore there is even less money available to pay them.

you should change your name to norbert fc and you can then get away with murder.

There is more money flowing into football than ever before so there should be plenty to go round. These clubs are mortgaging their futures against the gamble of getting promoted or being successful. If they can't be trusted to manage their own finances they should be regulated. If FPP style rules were to be imposed, there were would be a dose of realism and they would broadly live within their means. Ultimately its the fans who suffer.

David Moyes said The other day that everyone in the prem needs to take a 20% wage reduction or more and more clubs will go bust.
                            I recon Everton are next!

The players are biggest cunts in all this.
