'Crying' Man City fan says he wasn't blubbering, he was just 'very tired'

Manchester City fan John Millington, who featured in a viral video that appeared to show him crying, has denied blubbering like a baby when his team conceded a late goal to Swansea and says he was just 'very tired'.
The now infamous clip, which shows Millington slumped down with his hands on his head, has been viewed by people across the world – most of whom found the incident hilarious and thought the Royal Mail worker should get a grip.

But the 26-year-old has denied he was weeping.
He said: 'I wasn’t crying, I was just frustrated and very tired… There may have been a tear in my eye but I was just exhausted and frustrated.
'They slowed it down to make it look much worse than it was.'
He went on to explain he hadn't got enough sleep the night before and this coupled with the fact that Manchester United were winning their game led to the emotional response.

He added: 'I can’t really remember it, I’d finished work the night before at eight, not gone to bed until midnight and had to be up at 4am.
'I think it was a combination of the beer and being tired and it all just went bang.
'I knew they (Manchester United) were winning 2-0 and when Swansea scored I was devastated.

'I know there’s a long way to go now but at the time I just couldn’t see past those 90 minutes and it all got on top of me.'
But the Citizens fan has now decided to put his support behind his team and now realises, like the rest of us did already, there are still enough games left to win the title.
He said: 'It’s still in our hands. If we beat United we’ll be alright. I hope we do because if we don’t, I don’t think I’ll ever live this down.'

Nothing more pathetic than a grown man crying over football match.

WAsnt in Istanabul but cried my eyes out- and the next day too. Beer might have had some input in that though...

Yes you're right. It's much more pathetic than grown men bickering about football on the internet.

Football made me weep many times. Usually during the very best of times.
                  Oh I don't know.

only tears of joy and pride. proud we raised the team from the dead, and proud we all helped to do our bit. [getting goose bumps, even now]
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
