Looking promisingDoctors treating Fabrice Muamba say he is showing "small signs of improvement".
The Bolton midfielder remains in a critical condition in the London Chest Hospital's intensive care unit after suffering a cardiac arrest during Saturday's FA Cup tie at Bolton.
But the latest bulletin - released jointly by Bolton and the hospital trust - read: "His heart is now beating without the help of medication and he is also moving his arms and his legs.
"However, his long-term prognosis will remain unclear for some time. He is still critically ill and will continue to be closely monitored and treated by staff."
Earlier Muamba's Bolton manager Owen Coyle emerged from the hospital with a message from the 23-year-old's family and friends.
He said: "They are so thankful and they want to put that on record. They have been inundated with messages from the football community globally, family and friends. People have shown a real concern."
The times they are a changin'.

some good news at least but still along way to go.my uncle had a massive heart attack 23/12/10 at the age of 75 luckily he's still with us but he's not the same man.what happened to was we were in the house and my mum called me downstairs and there he was on the chair having what i thought was a fit or stroke,we called 999 and i had to lay hime flat on the floor and do the heart pumping until the ambulance arrived which was about 5mins and then they took over.he was basically dead for about 10mins,at first he went to fazakerly then broadgreen as has happened with muamba he was kept sedated until xmas day when he came round he had some memory lose, when asked were he lived he gave an address that left it 1945 he also asked about my auntie his sister were she was but she had died in 2004.
to this day he isn't 100%right and has to take nearly 20 tablets a day for various things and thats after only 10mins or so without his brain getting oxygen, mamba has supposedly gone 2hours hopefully his fitness will help.
who's arsed?

I wonder if they could take a look at Charlie Adam?I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
