    West Ham takeover

    The head of Iceland´s FA is now the front runner to takeover West Ham according to the BBC. It will be a disaster, when Gudjohnsen played for Chelsea a whole lot of people started supporting them and they were always allover the news. Now we´ll be having West Ham shirts everywhere

    On a serious note, the financial backer for the bid is quite big and seems to have some serious business acumen, West Ham could profit heavily from this IMO.

    I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

      What's all this I heard about interest in West Ham being heightened because of the Olympics? Is it just to do with regeneration of the area or is there something more to it than that? I heard that they won't be allowed to take over the Olympic stadium but is that really definite?

        Yes, I´m from Iceland. I think we can safely say that the Icelandic interest is genuine and I think that if it goes through West Ham will only benefit. This guy´s father is thought be a part of the consortium I believe. http://www.forbes.com/static/bill200...atatype=Person

                        last time we (icelanders) bought a football club, was Stoke city, and boy that was a mess. remember them getting royally bum****et by us (Liverpool) 0-9 or something a few years back. although i reckon this time they have more money behind them, and propper business menn...

                        but i'd hate to see this happen, when icelander do something abroad a frenzy shakes the country, last year 60% of the nation supported ****ing Chelski, but now that Eidur has gone to barca, every body supports barca, and thankfully the ****ing support for that piece og **** team is almost non existing now. you can imagine what eill happen if we buy a premiership football club...

                          Are you serious about everyone supporting chavski? Just think what would have happened if Gudnason made it lol, I went to Iceland the same time as the Washington sniper and have to say it was a beautiful country. Didn't see that many football pitches though but maybe that was cause I went in October or November (Whenever half-term is). Also I didn't see a puffin but I ate one.

                            yup it was a ****ing disgrace, but Liverpool has the biggest support in Iceland, closely followed by the scum and then arse... but these are propper supporters, but even many of them started favoring the chavs, it was crazy.

                            only thing on tv was chelski, media loved them, and didn't criticize, but now that eidur has left, they have begun talking about their dirty tactics...

                            majority of children in the countrie supported the club, the president and prime minister whent to see a match, it was crazy frenzy, and allof a sudden every one started following football and thought they new everything about it and chelski was the greates club in the world, but now it's barca...

                            and if icelander buy west ham the same will happen...

                            yes and if an icelander would make it big at liverpool, the country would be completely red, witch would not be a bad thing...

                              Yeah we just missed the puffins too, it's from May to mid-August that they're around. (we were late August)

                              The only whales around were bloody minke whales which don't do much either. Still very nice. The ice caps are very impressive!
