Where, at any point, did i make assumptions?? If anything, you've made the assumption that we had not got the money??

FSG have always said that the money is there, if Kenny and Comolli thought we could add quality to the squad - we can only take that at face value...

Even the dog on the street knows that we needed additional striking options - Cisse was obviously available in the January window - i appreciate it is a hard window to attract players, so quality players are going to be hard to find - but Newcastle certainly did....

Well, you made the assumption that comolli or the club weren't on the case. That may or may not be the case, and if it is, then there may be valid reasons for it. I was suggesting that there may not have been the budget for it. I don't know that any more than you do. It was, after all a suggestion.

I really hope Newcastle finish fourth, after all the slack the got from other fans, and a lot on here, constantly called a joke of a club and what not. Time for people to have a good hard look at themselves and our own problems. There is a lot we could learn from a club like Newcastle at the moment, mostly that british players are overrated and as technically gifted as three year old girls.

To be fair, I think that was the generic football response to a leading question about a transfer. Arsenal, Fulham, Juventus, Villareal were linked with him, but it doesn't mean we were even enquiring about him.

From memory, that transfer was well and truly under the radar- zero links until Newcastle announced it, so much so, it was a good hour before it even appeared on the Beeb. Perhaps we're reliant on shifting an attacker out, before bringing one in.
