    Hahahaha. Are you serious?

It's so easy we haven't won it for 6 years and only about four teams or something have won it in the last ten.

Man, if it's so easy why aren't we winning it every year with our eyes closed.

He's right though, in the sense that it only requires 6 games to win the FA Cup, whilst obviously a good league campaign requires 38 matches.

I suppose you can lose in the league and still win it, but obviously to win the FA Cup you cant lose a single game, but still, it's far easier than winning the league.

I don't think it's 'far easier'. As you say you can win and lose games in the league and still finish champions but in the FA Cup you have to win them all.

Of course winning the league is much harder and that's the one we covet but to suggest winning the FA Cup or even the League Cup is easy is crazy to me.

And remember what the article is suggesting is that winning a cup will let you into the Champions League qualifiers but winning the league would get you automatic entry and seeded so winning the league is being recognized as a greater achievement, which I don't dispute.

You can actually win the FA Cup without winning a single game, you can draw them all & win on penalties.

Nobody said winning the cup is 'easy', but sorry - winning the FA Cup is indeed far EASIER than winning the league. Teams like Pompey, Cardiff, Millwall etc have all been within one game of winning it but with the league, you're only going to have 2 or 3 teams who can win it.

You agree that winning the league is much harder, but you say winning the FA Cup isn't far easier - isn't that a contradiction right there?

Saying something is easy suggest that us winning the League Cup and getting to the final of the FA Cup is not an achievement. Like a pub team could do that if they felt like it.

It's not easy, it's hard. But yes wining the league is much harder

The difference is if the prize for winning the FA Cup was a place in the top European cup, then every team would take it a lot more seriously, it would be a lot more competitive, and harder to win as a result. You'd have to win 7 out of 7 against other teams who all want it more than they would currently.

You keep clinging to this 'easy' stuff, despite the fact that nobody ever suggested it was easy.

No no, you could still draw & go through on penalties

Is winning the FA cup easier than finishing 4th?

Its certainly close and I'd imagine it'd be even closer once the CL place was added into the mix.

However, what would happen if it was in place this season and it was City vs Us in the final? Would we get in by finishing runners up? That'd be ridiculous.

And what about if it was United v City, would the other place go to 5th place?.. So basically top 6 could get you CL football depending on how the cups go.

Easier or not, winning a cup is certainly more of a lottery. The teams you face are not even for all so the achievement is not the same for all teams. The league is the 'fairest' competition and the best way of deciding CL places imo. A championship team in the CL really would be ridiculous.

You could have a side of the draw with exclusively lower leagues sides in the FA cup. Then face a Championship side in the final. So I don't think its worth the place. If the cups were Seeded and set out in a draw at the start of the season. I could see a decent argument for it.

Sorry to be pedantic, but there's no 'side of the draw' with the FA Cup, it's a random draw* so you can draw anyone.

                              * - allegedly.

But if they were seeded it makes it much more likely you will face lower league opponents
