Carroll should start the remaining games, infact so should Sterling etc. There meaningless now to us. So we're better off letting some of the youngsters who will be here next year have a chance to prove themselves.

An incredible display of strength, power, aggression and dare I say it, technical composure and intelligence.
I can only imagine that he downed a beer to calm the nerves, came on and thought '**** you all, I'm Andy Carroll.'
A fantastic display for 30 minutes which gives me some hope for the future should he stay.

Whilst Carroll was on yesterday he was the best player on the pitch. He showed passion, skill and strength that I'd only seen in fleeting glimpses before. He can certainly be an excellent player for us which was the most positive thing for me yesterday.
But don't be surprised if the remainder of games he does get as fired up.

He came on and completely changed the dimension and the flow of the game and took us to the next level. I have only seen a select band of Liverpool players do that in the past five years- Gerrard, Alonso, Torres.
I am not saying he is that level but yesterday was the first time he displayed what the Newcastle coaches were raving about all the time - winning everything in the air, physically dominating defenders.
IMO he has been trying hard for the last month, ever since the Newcastle game. yesterday everything clicked for him. Yesterday's game should be a major turning point in his Liverpool career. He will get genuine support and affection from all the fans after his display.
I hope he builds on from here.

Chris said yesterday that Carroll "has made a cunt out of me"
I said ages ago, right back in this thread, that we'd maybe get one in four goal return from him, and we'd get some performances from him that would make the fans think he's a world beater, followed by some average performances.
I know he looked sensational yesterday, but I stand by the above. Remains to be seen if I've been proven wrong.
Thats not to say that he has been helped with a prolonged run - he hasn't and could probably do with a decent amount of games where he knows he's number one.
The other question is - would he have had that influence if he hadn't come off the bench? It was the definition of the impact sub, he had his role to shake things up and he did it brilliantly.

massively impressed with Carroll yesterday, he must have been disappointed to start on the bench yesterday and coming on when we were already 2 down it would have been easy to have plod along and make a half arsed effort, instead he came on and was a complete beast and showed he does have that big game mentality that too few in the squad seem to have.
Needs to kick on from this and show it on a regular basis but well done Andy
