as messed up as this is, we need to get some further cash in so brenda can go shopping again, and clearing out a misfiring ac and his weekly wages is possibly a good thing, so long as the replacements are ready-to-go, and not "potential"

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

That means we don't want to loan him then.

          Demand a fee.

Interesting that the news leaks out with a fee involved and all that, then an hour or so later, news leaks again that we reject the loan bid.

Could be a way for us to signal to others that we're looking at around the £17m mark to sell.

Whatever we do, we've lost the money on Carroll as we have a player who is, and never was worth even half of the fee we paid.

But if we did keep him as a bit part player, you could add another £10m to the right off on the fee next summer and £4.5m in wages. If we want a back up striker, we should be able to buy one who might suit our system for less than that.

Thats similar to what I was thinking earlier when I saw a fee. We are looking to fish out potential buyers and indicating we will deal around that figure. Aston Villa could easily stump around 17m+

Whos out there who we could sign for 17m plus a bit more who could be a good addition. Imstruggling to think of any decent centre forwards who would play regularly and fit into a tactical system that none of us fully understand yet.

We lost Torres and replaced him with Suarez AND Carrol for just £7m. (Torres £50m + £7m (£35m + £22m))
Suarez on his own is worth the so called £35m so realistically if we could get back £22m for Carrol then we break even. Letting him go on loan for one season saves £4m in wages, then sell him for £18 and Bobs your Aunty. Simples.

There are plenty of strikers out there. Even then I am not that convinced a main strikers who can score goals is really that crucial Big IF others chip in. I can not recall any strikers scoring 30+ goals in the premiership alone for a while. The last one to achieve that was not even a striker. It was Ronaldo!

Give me 3 decent strikers getting 15-20 each a midfield getting 30+ between them and happy days.

...Did you know without Van Persies goals last season Arsenal would have finished 16th

Problem we've had though is not enough players chipping in with goals

Ahhhh, But without the saves their keeper made they'd have finished even lower though.

Why try? I think Rodgers will have ideas.

Keepers are more important than strikers
