Newcastle must have been dancing for joy when we offered £35m plus a sell on clause. You are right about Kenny though what the **** was he thinking of? I just hope that if there is a sell on clause that it is the "only if we make a profit" one.

I can see his point though, adding the sell on clause just seems to prove they were taking the piss. (We were never going to sell him for a profit though)
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

There is definitely an element of truth to it. But I think in general you have to look at the transfer in the context in which it occurred - i.e. if he had done well we could have been in the CL. We had a few days to sign a striker, ideally one ready to hit the ground running.

Given time constraints we clearly couldn't give a **** about never to be activated clauses - I imagine Ashley could have snuck in a clause stating that if Andy was the first man on Mars we had to buy him Belgium and we would have said OK.

For me the major avoidable mistake wasn't even the price, which obviously wasn't a plus point, but that he came injured and not ready to play.

Reports today that West Ham are preparing a 36 Million pound Contract ... thats just for Andy ... 7 year deal ..... Did I shift into a parrell Universe .... Although all things considered ... He is perfect for them and they are perfect for him, he would be the main man and could act as a focal point to keeping them up and pushing on

all ends up, purely mental deal. I also think Spurs played there part, it was if we had to beat them to this guy show whose boss and flex our muscles. They wer mental enough to offer 27m in first place

Andy Carroll has not travelled with the Liverpool squad to Belarus.

They made a bit of a tit of BR yesterday on Talk Sport, discussing handling of AC, and playing back the interview he did with them just after he took over, where he said every single player at Liverpool will be given a chance, and..how when he was young and growing up..Liverpool was always the club that in his opinion did give players a chance.

I wish he would'nt talk to TS tbh, they are manipulative *******s.

That's weird. I thought he was named in the squad. I think Rodgers clearly wants shot of him. Just a question of money now I reckon

We don't know that this isn't in the contract.

I dunno, Andy hasn't been back with us long so perhaps Rodgers thinks he might need a few more training sessions before playing a competitive match.

                            Or maybe he is off.

                            Who knows?

It's just a case of when and to who and for how much.

Might even drag on past the window, and he'll stay for a time, depends how low we are prepared to go.
