Sadly, that was always going to be the case when we paid £35m for him. Time to cut our losses an Carroll, he can have a good career elsewhere.

You get enough people patting you on the back for all the work that goes into these video's, i've done it myself, the only criticisms i have are the music choices on them which i've been kind enough to point out.

He received a fantastic reception from the Kop when he was warming up in the Gomel game. Every time he ran down that way there were big cheers, so I don't really buy into him not being supported.

I think, and polls can support that, most fans don't want to see Andy go.

I wasn't his biggest fan at the beginning but he grew on me over time.

Yes he has no pace nor mobility expected from 35m striker but the tag placed on him is not his fault.

He is still only 22 and he still has lot of room to improve but the issue is that for that to happen he needs to play regular football and I am not sure that will happen with us unless we got injuries.

He will get better and people keep forgetting that he had pretty good Euro's when we was given chance to play.

I personally would love us to keep him but I really don't think Rodgers wants him around, which is too bad, as I think he can help us this year.

Clearly the problem is that we are lacking funds to bring players Rodgers really wants and Andy will be most likely used as a cash-generating tool to accomplish that.

People say this a lot in football. With a large degree of certainty to boot. People said it with Owen at his peak, and he didn't get better. People said it with Fowler at his peak, and he didn't get better. People said it with Torres at his peak, , and he didn't get better.

Now, we only ever know that the peak was reached in retrospect, so in the meantime, it is assumed that improvement will continue on an upward curve.

If there is one I thing I have learned in my life, it is to never make unqualified assumptions about anything.

I'll keep it simple...i've always wanted big lad to do well and smash a few in...were some glimpses of brilliance like his double against city towards the start of his LFC career...there was also some shockingly poor bits which i did shout at him for (to the telly obviously not to his face...he is big after all!)...but i have always (and enjoyed with great pride) cheering him on especially his goal against chavski in the fa cup when he came off the bench...his goal in the euro's...and the 'there's only one Andy Carroll' chant when he chased that loose ball and even kept it in play (can't remember what game it was...but similar work rate yesterday against leverkeusen when he lost the ball but chased back & hasseled to win the ball back).
Anyways i hope we can make use for him and help him to learn a new element to his all round play come on big man do us proud and keep fighting for ur place in the side!!

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan insists the newly-promoted Premier League club were prepared to blow their budget "for several years" in order to snare Andy Carroll from Liverpool.

Carroll was the subject of an accepted £19 million bid from the London-based club earlier this month, but the striker opted instead to stay at Anfield and fight his place in the first team.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce made public his desire to bring the striker to the club, and Sullivan says the club was willing to back his judgement, despite needing to spend "too much" for Carroll and Wolves' Matt Jarvis.

"I can only talk about this because it has been put in the public domain already," Sullivan told the Mirror. "My manager wanted Andy Carroll, so we backed him. Andy was the perfect player for him and the style of football we play.

"We play a lot of high balls, a lot of crosses - quite exciting football, not just humping it but clever crossing - and Sam wanted Jarvis to supply the crosses because he is a fantastic crosser.

"We had a deal in place with Liverpool to borrow the player which automatically became a purchase if we stayed up.

"We hoped, as he had the same agent as our manager - a man we had done a lot of business with - and he was very friendly with Kevin Nolan, our captain, that Andy would want to come.

"But he really wants to stay at Liverpool. He believes that he will get back into the side by his performances - coming off the bench or for the reserves. He believes the manager will have to put him back in the side. But it's wrong to discuss what is in his mind. Only he knows that."

Sullivan added: "It was a terribly expensive deal with the loan fee and with his wages, which were enormous - too much for a club like ours.

"But, as the manager really wanted him, we were prepared to pay it. Then there was a huge transfer fee which would have blown our budget for several years. So, as we buy players, the door shuts."

Carroll has also been linked to his former side Newcastle United. But Sullivan claims Liverpool were not willing to loan the striker back to his hometown club.

"We were paying all of his wages and a huge loan fee," he said. "Newcastle didn't even want to pay all of his wages. This is what we are led to believe. So Liverpool were not prepared to let him go to Newcastle. But it may all change. Who knows?"
