maybe andy should have done a few more stretches and lunges when he was on the beach. no one would begrudge him his holidays, but if he was truly serious about his career then he would prioritise getting match fit and super sharp so the manager would have to play him.

Hamstrings can go at any time for all sorts of reasons. Both Gerrard and Owen used to suffer badly from them in their early careers because of bad posture not simply because they played too much or didn't play enough.

Anyway, Andy Carroll's injury is West Hamstring's problem, not ours...

A position to be able to actually play week in week out? It was up to West Ham to assess his fitness and whether to start him straight away or not. We/Rodgers didn't force them to throw him straight in.
        Aye.

The fact that he got injured has nothing to do with us and it is also clear that WH had no indications there was something wrong with his hamstring as they wouldn't have started him.

Big Sam after the match said himself that his injury was very unusual as it happened as the result of the jump not running.

I see what you did there.

Still, the fact that Rodgers said Carroll was out of the Europa League game with a hamstring twinge is rather ironic given what happened the other day.

I think you'll find his hammy went when he jumped.

So questions about whether he can ever jump as high will be asked!

Gerrards was down to growing pains and once his body had a few years to settle after his growth spurt, he was fine. In fact, Gerrards issue was actually in his back and groin. He had his wisdom teeth removed to fix the issue! Talk about an extreme placebo.

Owen suffered with them due to that hamstring injury he had against Leeds way back in 1999. Owen actually said that he no longer actually has 1 of the 3 hamstrings in his right leg as he has ****ed it that badly and as a result he will always suffer with hamstring issues.

I know Giggs suffered with hamstring issues due to his posture. He apparently stopped running at full pace many years ago to help cure the issue.

By the time Carroll comes back from this injury, he would already have cost West Ham £850,000!!!

Liverpool FC: Sam Allardyce says nothing is stopping Reds from recalling Andy Carroll in January

WEST HAM boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that there is no contractual clause preventing Liverpool FC from recalling Andy Carroll from his loan spell in January, should the Reds want to bring the striker back to Anfield.

“There’s an opportunity for Liverpool (to get him back in January) if they want to, but whether they do or they don’t will be in a matter of time,” explained Allardyce.

“If Andy’s playing for us on a regular basis by then and that’s the case, he’ll have played a major part in keeping us in the league.

“In the end, the deal was structured to get the player however you could get him, from my point of view. This player is that big, in my opinion, for us this season, so you do whatever you can do to get the deal done.

“We couldn’t agree in the early stages with Liverpool on a deal for Andy, so it looked as if it wasn’t going to happen.”
