2011/12 PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards.

    Maybe, but then Bale winning the main award last season was farcical and Ryan "started 15 league games and scored 2 goals" Giggs getting it in 08/09 was even more ridiculous. Giggs couldnt have wowed that many oppositon players as he barely started! Chamberlain had started 5 league games and was included on the list. They all have something in common though, huge, huge media hype. And how many actually play against these players? If 25 man squads all get a vote, only 11 are on the pitch at a time...etc

    I think media hype plays an enormous role in this. In some cases it is justified though like RVP this year and Ronaldo in years gone by.

      Bale was incredible until he got injured. The Giggs one well.... i think that was just a token of admiration from fellow professionals for such an incredible career, kind of a send off i don't think any of them thought Giggs would still be playing!!! I laughed when it happened, but at same thing it was ridiculous the performances he put in when everyone thought he was finished.

      But i do get what you're saying. England above all are fiends for hyping up their own players but IMO Walker was justified in getting on that list, barring the Spurs freefall, IMO he was impressive 2011-2012 season. Obviously Aguero has been outstanding and prob should have got it, although like i said i just don't see him as a youngster, maybe some thought similar i dunno.

      Anyways for me, i have no problems with who won especially RVP who is incredible, always thought he was just injuries have hampered him.

        Was Antonio Valencia in the short list? IMO one of the most under rated players in the league. Quality player disgusted United have him.

          Nah dont think so, and I agree he should have been on there. He's class and his game is so ****ing simple aswell.

          Remember wetting myself when they signed him, the Ronaldo replacement, a fella from Wigan! And while he's obviously nowhere near him he has settled in to their team really well.

                old school winger. No bull **** with him, never complains, work rate is ridiculous, gets down the line and get balls in & can score goals too. Fantastic player!

                  Maybe Walker is over hyped, don't think Ekotto has been? Gone quietly about his job all season IMO. I know you don't rate him but you're the only person i know that doesn't think he's improved massively.

                    Not sure he has been overhyped. He was only getting a lot of attention earlier in the season because Tottenham were over achieving.

                    Walker has more clean sheets than any of our defenders (one of the top in the league too) has close to the top pass completion rate, pace to burn and although not high scoring has been a threat for Tottenham with very good crossing. If he had broken in to our team we would be raving about him.

                          i like Walker mate i think he is a talent. And yup we would be waxing lyrical about him

                            van Persie deserves the player of the year award, I can't believe Walker got the young player of the year ahead of Aguero
