    Clarke Carlisle on Andy Carroll:

"You feel let down, it's disappointing to see that, especially when there is zero contact"

    Clarke Carlisle on Ashley Young:

"I wouldn't say he is or has been prone to falling over. He is quick and slight so it doesn't take much contact to make him go over."

Both his dives against QPR and Villa were absolutely scandalous. The former was a real travesty as he was also offside when the ball was played, not to mention the unjust red card for Derry which bafflingly was not rescinded. How they keep on getting these decisions is completely beyond me. I'd like to think he'll now be tarred with the same brush as Suarez who could be completely man-handled and never get the decision from the referee. But somehow, what with it being the Scum and all, I doubt it.

Carlisle said:'I genuinely believe if the FA, the Premier League and referees just took a zero tolerance line to diving and confrontation, either player to player or surrounding referees, you would see a month of madness.
'You would see red cards flying around left, right and centre but it would stop it because players would be missing two games, three games - then five, six, seven through suspension.
'They would miss key games and clubs would then take a stance on it. I believe you would then see it wiped out.
'If you just took the hard line, said we're not taking it any more, you might have a month of seven-a-side games but after that, because of the financial and professional ramifications, you would see a dramatic difference in players' behaviours.'

Who the **** is Clarke Carlisle? Other than an ignorant biased muppet of course.

              What a ****ing prick.

I'd also like to know why that media whore Gordon Taylor, the chief of the PFA, has been silent on this issue when it involves one of his members actively seeking to deceive, con and get one over a fellow professional, when he has had his say this week about goal line technology. ****.

The PFA are too busy deciding which of their members they wish to honour with an award to say they are better than their other members.

EDIT: I wonder if the RMT do similar?

I think Gary Neville [spit] gave some interesting insight during his analysis last night.

But really, referee's give yellow cards for diving when it should be a penalty and referee's give penalties for diving which shouldn't be a penalty, thus the theme is referees. Granted they're not going to get everything right - there is human error after-all - but for me it's highlighting incompetence.

A higher calibre of referee and we see yellow cards for diving and penalties for tackles.

it might be good to get a "simulation" thread going, and the more technically minded members can amalgamate the blatant cheats together for our amusement.

Gerrard dives all the time, but we don't get all riled up about that do we?
I would say that he is quite successful at it.
                      Oh I don't know.

Its not deception if everyone sees it

Yeah, but the point is that it deceived the one person who matters. The ref. Twice in a week. They don't have the luxury of Mostar dishing out instant gifs of everything.

haha, first time i've seen this.

An amoeba could see that was a blatant dive, Young initiated any contact, if there was any!

He then threw himself to the ground in such an exaggerated fashion it's embarrassing.

And then, he gets a penalty, and some people say it was the correct decision. ffs.

                            That. is. sad.

I've heard a few saying there was contact so by the letter of the law it was a pen, and it's just the going down part he exaggerated.

Surely you must have heard that one ?

Or the one about, 'if he had'nt have exagerrated it so much then he wouldn't have got the pen even though there really was contact ?

Or, Clarke Carlisle saying 'he only weighs as much as a feather, so he gets knocked into the air easily' ?
