Why is it a waste of time? Not everything is about Britain. Most countries love Olympic football.

Personally I'm looking forward to it. I should be able to see a few games. Its always nice to have a International Football Tournament on your doorstep.

It's often been pretty entertaining in the past, I remember that's where Carlos Tevez first made his name as a youngster, he absolutely tore it up at Athens 2004.

Also surely you're even just a little bit intrigued (like looking at a car crash) to see how the might GB squad get on?

Uruguay are easily the best team in the group for me, especially with most of the team being made up of U23's

I do not recall seeing qualifying rounds. Besides where are the likes of Argentina, Holland, Germany etc, etc, etc......

Argentines 3rd in the final group stage of South American qualifying, with only top 2 going through.

UEFA qualifying seems to be based on the U21 Championships. Germany and Holland do not seem to hae progressed to the final stages of that tournement.

Well each federation gets a couple of places, so does the host. The others opt in and qualify I think.

Spain, Brazil, Uraguay, Mexico and GB will be competitive.

So much anger though, its an Olympic event
