Shocking interview with Danny Rose on Sky Sports News - reveals he was abused from warm-ups to the final whistle and beyond.

    Comment

England U-21 international Danny Rose describes his horrific experience in Serbia. "It started in the warm-up - they started monkey chanting then. When I went to get the ball for a throw-in, the monkey chants started again, but the first-half was nowhere as bad as the second - I had two stones hit me in the head when I went for a throw-in.

"After 60 minutes, my mind wasn't really on the game after that - I was just so angry, and it was so hard to concentrate. I expressed my emotions as soon as we scored - next thing I know, all the Serbia players were surrounding me, pushing me, I remember getting slapped twice, and got ushered away, and that's when I kicked the ball and then the refeee sent me off. I don't understand, the game had finished. And then there was more monkey chanting."

Absolute scum, not a fan of Danny Rose because he seems a bit of a dick on the pitch but really feel sorry for him here. He copped a really tough time and nobody deserves that.

The Serbian FA has denied there was any racism towards the England Under-21 team in Tuesday's Euro 2013 play-off.
And officials also blamed England's Danny Rose for clashes at the end of the game because of "inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar" behaviour.

Earlier Rose, 22, had called for Serbia to be "banned", claiming he had been racially abused during the game.
But the Serbian FA said there was a "spirit of fair play on the pitch and in the stands".
Connor Wickham scored in the 90th minute as Stuart Pearce's England side qualified for Euro 2013, with the goal sparking a series of scuffles between players and staff on both sides as missiles were thrown onto the field.

Racist chanting mars England U21 match. This footage may contain offensive language.
Prime Minister David Cameron has led the calls for Uefa to impose "tough sanctions" on racism, while sports minister Hugh Robertson has written to Uefa president Michel Platini alleging "extreme provocation and racism".
The Football Association reported "a number of incidents of racism" to Uefa after the match, while Rose's account of the abuse aimed at him has been published on the FA's official website.
But the Serbian FA says making a connection between the on-pitch scuffles and racism has "absolutely no ground".
In a statement on its website, the Serbian FA said it "absolutely refuses and denies that there were any occurrences of racism before and during the match at the stadium in Krusevac".
"Making connection between the seen incident - a fight between members of the two teams - and racism has absolutely no ground and we consider it to be a total malevolence.
"Unfortunately, after the fourth minute of the additional time and the victory goal scored by the guest team, unpleasant scenes were seen on the pitch.
"And while most of the English team players celebrated the score, their player number three, Danny Rose, behaved in inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar manner towards the supporters on the stands at the stadium in Krusevac, and for that he was shown a red card."

Didn't see the game, but did Rose bring all these instances to the ref's attention during the game ?
FIFA and UEFA have been very clear on that matter, so much so that Platini has even said that any player who walks off during a game due to racist abuse is to be yellow carded, as it is the purview of the officials to suspend or abandon matches if such instances occur when brought to their attention.
Rose was carded for smashing the ball into the crowd I believe, which is not be same thing as above, but I would suspect UEFA won't be letting him away with that.

Usual 2 grand fine for Serbia as well................works great.

Since 2006 when I got so pumped out before World Cup only to see Poland destroyed by mighty Equador I don`t have to much interest in the international football but today I would love Poland to beat England. Sadly can`t see it happening. Probably easy 2,3-0 to England is the likely outcome. And Roy will be hailed as a genius again.

The organisers made clowns of themselves already, now time for the players.

I`ll just keep fingers crossed that none of our (Liverpool) players get injured and there is no humilitation.

Predictable from UEFA. What a bunch of c*nts.

Uefa charges Serbia AND ENGLAND after football fracas.

Uefa has charged the Serbian and English football associations following the fracas at the end of the Under-21 football match between the two nations.

European football's governing body said it was instigating proceedings against the Serbian FA over the conduct of its players and supporters.

And proceedings are also being instigated against the English FA for the "improper conduct" of its players.

Earlier, Prime Minister David Cameron said he was "appalled" by the fracas.

He called on Uefa to impose "tough sanctions" if racism is proved. Its Control and Disciplinary Body will discuss the cases on 22 November.

England Under-21 defender Danny Rose, 22, has called for Serbia to be banned after claiming he was racially abused by fans in Krusevac on Tuesday.

He said he was subjected to monkey chants from the crowd throughout the game, starting in the warm-up, and then was confronted by Serbian players after England scored in the 90th minute

Some fans ran on to the pitch and scuffles broke out as England celebrated a 1-0 win and Euro 2013 qualification.

But the Serbian FA has denied any forms of racism towards the England team.

It also said Rose behaved in an "inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar manner" towards their fans.

FA general secretary Alex Horne had earlier called on Uefa to "take the strongest possible action" against anyone guilty of violence and racist abuse at the end of the match.

"It is also clear that we must defend Danny Rose, who was sent off due to the frustration of being a target of racial abuse.

"No football team should be asked to play in any environment where racial abuse, violence and threatening behaviour is prevalent. We must question the validity of sending a team to Serbia in the future."

The government is giving its full backing to a Football Association complaint over alleged racist taunts, a spokesman for Number 10 said, adding that Mr Cameron "was appalled by the scenes that we have seen in Serbia".

"Clearly it is for Uefa to investigate this issue but we would expect tough sanctions. If we are going to stamp out racism from football, then it is no good giving derisory fines, as have been handed out in the past.

Sports minister Hugh Robertson has also written to the president of Uefa, Michel Platini, urging him to investigate the incident.

"The really important thing is that this is the time to have no more derisory fines, no more punishments that send out the wrong message," he said.
                              'Ban Serbia'

The chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association, Clarke Carlisle, said Serbia should serve a ban from European football.

"Serbia should be banned because it's a repeat offence," he told BBC Radio 5 live.

Banning them for a start, from any tournament, would be progress but I think if it's significant - if it's a couple of tournaments - then that would cause that nation to address the issue that has deprived them of international competition."

Former England footballer Luther Blissett has also called for Serbia to be banned from football tournaments by Uefa.

"They should get a three, four-year ban and that's talking about at club level and international level in my opinion because that it the only way these countries will really start to look at it and say 'we have to do something about it'.

"Because they obviously don't see that they're doing anything wrong by abusing people the way they do."

England defender Nedum Onuoha was racially abused during the 2007 Under-21 European Championship game against Serbia in the Netherlands, for which Serbia were fined £16,000 by Uefa.

                                .

To be fair, it was always likely that England FA would be held to account for its members actions after the final whistle as well.
