Once again The Great Communicator opens his mouth and puts his foot in it...

A lot of those players would certainly not be out of place in the senior team - albeit, I must say, from working with the seniors for the last couple of days, I have been pretty impressed with the quality of the technique and the desire and the ambition we have there.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

The Beeb reporting that Bernstein says Bodge shouldn't be sacked even if England don't qualify for the WC. Reckons he should be kept in the job for the next 4 years regardless.

Surely that can't be true if he manages to do a Graham Taylor and not actually get to a major competition then there is no way he should be allowed to continue in the job. He shouldn't have got in the first place the old fraud!

                        Continuity is the key apparently.

Bernstein is suffering from a mental illness, the reason England won't qualify is because of Owl Face and his horrible outdated tactics and **** management.

I'd have fancied my chances at getting England out of that group let alone a manager with 3456346734670367304763047687754259569 years of experience

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The uncapped duo of Everton midfielder Ross Barkley and Tottenham midfielder Andros Townsend have been called into the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine.

Joining Barkley, 19, and Townsend, 22, is the recalled Raheem Sterling, 18.
Southampton striker Rickie Lambert is retained after scoring against Scotland on his debut while Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge returns after injury.
Uncapped Celtic keeper Fraser Forster replaces the injured Ben Foster.
England take on Moldova at Wembley on 6 September, before travelling to Kiev to face Ukraine on 10 September.
                                England squad:

Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster, Joe Hart, John Ruddy

Defenders: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker

Strikers: Jermain Defoe, Rickie Lambert, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young
