@RobHarris: Roy Hodgson: "I thought we were quite good"
@RobHarris: Hodgson: "The 40,000 looked a good crowd to me"
(pointing to other attendances in Europe)
@SamWallaceIndy: Q: Only 2 shots on target. Hodgson: 'Don't give me that. 2 shots on target? What about the shots that people threw themselves in front of?'
@neilashton_: Spiky Hodgson: 'Two shots on target? Don't give me that. Do what you want with the statistics.'
He does that all the time, keeping all our lads on for the full 90. And longer if he had the chance. A class 'A' **** hoping for some of Brendan's magic to leech off.
I'm glad Sturridge was selfish, hope we lose against Switzerland and Sterling/Sturridge don't run much at all. Both have a long England future and don't need to be wasting lung capacity while that idiot's in charge.
We'll find it hard to bring attendances back to very high levels because the opponents we're playing won't excite the public, they're not the teams that normally attract full houses.
But in the next breath ...

If the team works as hard as they did against Norway, show the appetite and desire, and the aggression in the defending, show the exciting moves that were there for all to see, the fans will come back
On their first shot on target being Wayne Rooney's 68th-minute penalty and their 63% possession:

Two shots on target? Don't give me that one. Don't hit me with statistics. When we had that much possession, and you talk about two shots on target? What about all the shots they threw themselves in front of? We enjoyed some positive moments, some good movement and good play. All the things I wanted I thought I saw for large periods of the game.

I've learned that the players are anxious to defend more aggressively and be more compact in their play. These young players are prepared to take the responsibility, to receive the ball under pressure. I also learned from these players that we are not restricted to playing one particular way.
