I think he'd complement Parker quite well actually. I think whatever you do at this stage is going to be a bit random. I certainly think Carrick is more creative than either of them. On the flip side even at United where he is settle he has often struggled when left to run a midfield on his own. In general I think he's had a rough deal at international level but this omission is far from a great injustice.

To be fair Jones has struggled pretty much everywhere, at CB he's been a disaster at times, done okay in CM at times.
