Harsh on Milner, and massively incorrect about him being slow. Ask Flanagan about how slow he is.

On the one hand I'd quite like to see England lose all three games, and for Bodge to be torn apart by the papers and then sacked. On the other hand, we have so many players in that squad and I'd hate to see them start next season on a right downer.

He certainly isn't quick, how many times have you watched an England game hoping James Milner would get on the pitch?

Milner is underrated I think. He's had a very good season for City and made some real game changing performances at times.

If the standby list is those who narrowly missed out on the main squad, that Carrick, Cleverly and Carroll are on there...... England really haven't got much strength in depth!

Hodgson ‘You can organise a pub team not to let in six goals against Manchester United,’ he said. ‘Give me six months and I’d organise them, if they had a half-decent goalkeeper and a couple of centre halves who can get in the way of the ball.’

Hodgson’s remarks will give Sunday league coaches everywhere hope that they too could manage at the highest level.

‘I consider myself to be in the same position as a lawyer,’ Hodgson added. ‘I studied to be a professional. I like to think that I’m good at my profession. Just as if I was to go to a lawyer, I’d go to someone who was good and really knows his job, even if I have to pay more.

‘It’s nice for people to believe some managers are born with a magical quality to transform bad into good. I don’t. It’s about leadership, practice, repetition and bloody hard work.

                    - clearly Hodgson has started believing the hype.

                    What an utter tool!

To be fair to him the way they've played lately a pub team wouldn't need much coaching to avoid conceding against United.

When countries like France and Spain do a long term grass roots overhaul, they actually do it and then wait for it to pay dividends. Which it has.

When we do it, all we do is write it down, say it over and over in the media and don't actually do anything.
