Manure the most hard done by in the league?

Would have thought they'd already been a thread on this but maybe that's down to Craig not being around.

An interesting take on the figures to say the least!

    Linky

If you look at the figures it shows we're on the wrong end of incorrect decisions 74% of the time, much higher than anyone else

The estimates of where a team might have finished are highly stupid, as therefore is the subheadline, but the basic breakdown of incorrect decisions for and against is interesting.

Is a more appropriate way to look at this not to compare the ratio of incorrect decisions given in their favour to incorrect decisions given against them. You could view this in whatever context you like, how lucky or unlucky a club is whether there is a benefit of the doubt afforded to certain clubs or if you feel that way how likely a referee is influenced by the club in giving decisions

If you believe that these things even themselves out over the season all clubs seem to fall with in 10% of this except for:

Fulham 75% of incorrect decisions go in their favour
Newcastle and Stoke 65% of decisions go in their favour
Wigan and Everton 68.8% of incorrect decisions go against them
Man City 72.7% of incorrect decisions go against them
Liverpool 73.6% of incorrect decisions have gone against us more than anyone else in the league

For the record Man Utd had 59% of incorrect decisions going against them so while they have in fact had more incorrect decisions go against them they have had nearly as many wrong decisions going in their favour. The same cannot be said for us or Man City.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I suppose it depends what you're trying to show. If it's a level of bias/misfortune against a team then you'd certainly have to look at that, I agree.

In terms of how costly it has proved, which is what this idiotic analysis of the data is trying to show, the difference between absolute number of incorrect decisions made for and against would be more meaningful. So, Utd got 5 more decisions against them than went for them. The exact same as City!

Also happens to be considerably less than us, who had 9 more go against us than for.

I wonder how many 'decisions' there have been in total. 350 incorrect ones seems like a lot, but what's that as a % of all such decisions?

Only skim this but does it highlight incorrect game changing decisions that were given in favour I.e. Ashley Young dive at QPR which also saw QPR down to ten men or the ones against Arsenal or Villa or even Essiens two footed challenge from behind that should have been a straight red? I'll hazard a guess that it doesn't and it's just another agenda driven piece of nonsense.

The report says there were 179 incorrect decisions out of 674 total key decisions that they looked at,which equates to 26.6% of these decisions are incorrect. (it's not clear what they define as key decisions although they mention disallowed goals, penalty decisions and sendings off).
