Fair point, although i get the feeling they'd have spent big anyway, Champs league win or not.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostThey reportedly earned £40m for winning the CL
Drogba
Anelka
Kalou
Bosingwa
All already off the wage bill with Malouda likely to follow.. I don't think they'd be as far off as many think.

But they would have received the majority of that for reaching the later stages anyway which I'm sure they would have already factored for as they would have expected to get there.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostThey reportedly earned £40m for winning the CL

Only City, Chelsea and PSG are flaunting the rules, everyone else including us seems to be following the guidelines, it's early days so let's just wait and see if the rules are enforced before declaring them a joke.Originally posted by spanky View Postthose fair play rules are a joke, none of the big teams are paying any attention to them

First step of enforcing them will probably be something like a warning, and then more time..?Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostOnly City, Chelsea and PSG are flaunting the rules, everyone else including us seems to be following the guidelines, it's early days so let's just wait and see if the rules are enforced before declaring them a joke.

Several clubs wont meet the rules. Juventus reported record losses last year and the way they are investing in players and their wages, I dont think losses will decrease sufficiently.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostOnly City, Chelsea and PSG are flaunting the rules, everyone else including us seems to be following the guidelines, it's early days so let's just wait and see if the rules are enforced before declaring them a joke.
I think the first round of FFP enforcement will be warnings only with restrictions to reducing the losses by a specific amount.

Napoli's president:
“PSG cannot just go around buying everyone. If there is to be the Financial Fair Play rule, then I don’t understand how Michel Platini can justify certain clubs ignoring it"I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

I wonder if a few of the clubs know that its unworkable and have just decided to ignore it. Either against some sort of trade / EU laws, or that there's huge loopholes they just won't be able to close with clubs able to claim sponsorship deals at many times the going rate from companies linked to their owners, like City did with their stadium sponsorship. Probably in the end FPP will hurt the smaller / more reasonable clubs who aren't able to pull such stunts.
While Platini doesn't even try to hide his biases, FIFA really are a joke whoever is in charge. As are most sports governing bodies. Boxing anyone? Formula 1?
