Should've gone back in for him when we made that £30m bid the day before going for Carroll. Now we can only dream of that sort of money.

Can see Juventus being in for him

He'll really shine for Man City in 2014/15.
That rug really tied the room together.

Chelsea's hopes of signing Brazilian striker Hulk from Porto are receding after Zenit St Petersburg made a £40m offer, plus Bruno Alves, for the 26-year-old.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                Moura set for PSG switch
Manchester United to miss out on Brazilian midfielder
By Paulo Freitas. Last Updated: August 8, 2012 7:35am

Lucas Moura has confirmed he is likely to join Paris St Germain to dash Manchester United's hopes of signing the Brazilian teenager.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed his interest in landing the midfielder last month and he missed Sunday's friendly against Valerenga in order to try to push through a deal.

The Red Devils had appeared close to agreeing a fee with Sao Paulo for the 19-year-old, but big-spending PSG have now gazumped the Premier League club.

Reports had also suggested that United were unwilling to meet the demands of Moura's agent and that the player had been put off a move to Manchester.

Moura has now admitted that talks are underway with PSG and he is expected to leave Sao Paulo in January in order to link up with compatriots Thiago Silva and Leonardo, who is the French club's sporting director.

"This is a good thing," Moura told Folha after Brazil's Olympic Games semi-final win over South Korea. "I'll stay at Sao Paulo until the end of the year. Things are well underway."

He added to Globo Esporte: "No doubt that would be better because I can help Sao Paulo a bit more. I have always said that I want to win a title before leaving and qualify the team for the Libertadores Cup.

"If it happens in January, I'll be able to do that for Sao Paulo.

"I'm focused on the national team. I can only say something after the Olympics. It's well underway, but not done.

"I talked to Thiago Silva and Leonardo, they said many good things about the club, the project they are implementing there."

Spanish website sport.es reports that Barca have agreed personal terms with Alex Song, so looks like Arsenal's CM is thining out a bit.

I know he's improved a lot but is he really Barca standard?

strange one. good player yes but not near barca standard IMO or has the barca playing philosphy. although neither did mash and he turned out okay for them. maybe song lined up for defense role mash has undertaken last season?

Can play CM and CB decent player but he ain't Martinez who I would have expected them to sign instead.

Yes, I think they are signing him for CB. They have a habit of moving DMs back to CB.

Song is pretty good but that's a bizarre move if true.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I really like him. I think he'll thrive there at CB and give decent CM cover.

                              Has Keita left Barca?
