I'd take him as back up to Pepe, misunderstood is Green, very good keeper.

he's more error prone than reina and thats saying something. I've never spoken to someone on the phone with less charisma than rob green, what a bundle of fun he must be in the dressing room.

QPR could be in all sorts of trouble if they go down.

Is Mikael Silvestre Manchester United's saviour? Alex plots sensational swoop to ease defensive crisis

Alex Ferguson could be planning a surprise swoop for former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre as the Reds' injury woes continue to grow.

The Frenchman is a free agent after Bundesliga outfit Werder Breman let the 35-year-old go this summer, following his move from Arsenal, and joined the Reds training session at their Carrington base today.

And despite Jonny Evans being ruled fit to play in United’s Champions League clash with CFR Cluj, Nemanja Vidic, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones remain on their injury table.

The man who spent ten years at Old Trafford after leaving Inter Milan was a firm favourite of Alex Ferguson and could be used as an experienced figure as United battle for defenders.

Despite losing his place to Patrice Evra, Silvestre regularly played as centreback and was close to agreeing a return to the Premier League with West Ham before Sam Allardyve eventually pulled out.

Silvestre was seen training with the Reds ahead of travelling to Romania, and Evans looked to have shaken off his bad knock sustained during the defeat to Tottenham.

That rug really tied the room together.

              Silvestre.

I really hope they register him for PL games.

They said today he's just training there and have no plans to sign him.
