Why couldn't they have won against Man Utd in 2008?

Awful last night from beginning to end with Bayern missing all those chances, just knowing the inevitable was going to happen. Gary Neville with his New Age bull**** 'it was written in the stars. This is more than football, this is the gods, the heavens, the spirit'. How about I shove a nice shiny crystal up your rat infested hole!

I don't actually mind Drogba or Lampard. It's Terry, Cole, Torres, Abramovich, Buck, the Chelsea fans and what they are.

I can only hope they go the direction of Aston Villa rather than Real Madrid. Repulsive club and yes, I'm more bitter than an Evertonian about it.

To be fair, credit to Chelsea because they had a game plan and stuck to it. Was such a poor game to watch though, and Robbens penalty
Is'nt that abit like saying they got battered, had no answer, and counted on Bayern not taking the huge amount of huge chances they were creating ?

Petr Cech was outstanding last night (as he was against Barca). Looks totally back on his game. I thought he may be on his way out earlier in the season but he looked unbeatable in the last 3 Champions League games. Seemed to go the right way on every pen.

I'm less bothered than I thought I'd be about them wining as well.

I think its because Terry missed out. It must have killed him missing out on that

Excellent peno save, should have done much better with the opening goal though.
He was very good against Barca alright, but Chelsea have shipped a ****load of goals this season, and it wasn't all down to AVB.
Bit like Pepe this season or so.......not exactly ****ing up, but not making the saves they used to (although Cech has done it when its counted).

Made me laugh this, turns out Terry has previous for celebrating a victory he had nothing to do with

Out of interest, I know UEFA said Terry would be allowed to collect the trophy but as a suspended player why was he allowed in amongst it during the course of the game - he was on the pitch pre penalty shoot out

Everything I've seen says that they'll enter the group stages next year now... Not that I want to kick up a stink, but they finished below our position in 05 and we had to go through all 3 qualifying rounds. Surely they have to as well or have they conveniently changed every rule?

Nope. The rule was changed because of our circumstances. Title holders into the groups by right, lowest placed qualifier bumped down a starting stage.

Well with the chavs taking an automatic place in next seasons CL. Does that mean united have to go through the qualifiers as isn't it the 3rd and 4th place teams go through them so with the chavs going into wouldn't that bump united into the qualifiers with arsenal and spurs into the europa?

only 4th goes into a qualifier but not now that Chelsea have won it.All four English teams are in the group stages thanks to England's superior co efficient.
