The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Not seen any talk of England making changes at the back, just about Rooney's return. Centrebacks have been woeful. I think the 'purely footballing' decision to take Terry over Ferdinand is looking pretty dodgy at the minute. We've been suspect on deadballs (supposedly Terry's strength) and given the ball back too quickly and not built anything for defence. Perhaps unfair to blame Terry for Roy's tactical 'masterplan' but I think thats the area that will be England's ultimate undoing.

You don't drop a striker who is playing well and scored in his last game.
I think it is probably the right decision - Welbeck played well too and also scored. His mobility is a better fit for the way Roy plays in a lot of situations. I like Carroll and think he is the better player but the combination of Rooney and Welbeck is probably the best England has at the minute and Rooney needs game time.

Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years1year 0.5 years
The Hodgson/media hype over Rooney is cringeworthy. I'm betting he'll be awful - worst player in South Africa, only scored 3 goals in not far off three years for England, looks overweight, was rubbish when he came on for Welbeck against Belgium. I don't think he'll score.
What's with this "can rooney save us" "can rooney make the difference" that's going on? We have 4 points already.. We don't need saving or a difference.. the same would do!
If we go out I hope he gets slated. If they're willing to big him up this much they should bury him should the worst happen.
