Dunne's face when he headed the ball... I don't want it to hit my head, I don't want it to hit my head, oh it hit my head, did it go in...?

I'm surprised at how crap Ireland are. It's like watching England..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Have you watched England under Hodgson yet?Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI'm surprised at how crap Ireland are. It's like watching England.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The English/Irish players technically are just not good enough. They just can't hold the ball.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI'm surprised at how crap Ireland are. It's like watching England.
The English/British/Premier league game is counter productive in creating good international players. We come not to play.

No. But it's how I suspect they'll be.

I just hope if they fail that's it's all down to the players and that no blame can be attached to the widely revered past winner of the Findus Cup.
My thoughts exactly. After about five minutes of this ****efest.Originally posted by Imy View PostThe English/Irish players technically are just not good enough. They just can't hold the ball.

The British game (including Ireland as most of their players play at British clubs) just doesn't teach the technical aspects of the game. Gordon Strachan was saying something similar in the Spain - Italy game, the tactical, patient game that the Spanish and Italians play isn't something in our culture.

That wouldn't make any difference. The FA/the country needs to start producing kids that are technically and tactically astute - kids that can hold the ball, kids who don't want to quickly go back to front bypassing the midfield.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostThat will be the bodges next excuse lads. Blame it on the johnny foreigner's in the prem taking up places in teams that english lads should have.We come not to play.
