Dempseys been very good for 3 season now. In fact, I wanted us to sign him a while back and posted it on here.

BUT the pessimist in me thinks he hit his peak last season and I'd rather be signing players now on the way up.

If you talk about players giving 100%, this guy gives even more. He's a winner and a fighter and would still be a great addition to the squad. An upgrade on Kuyt.

Dempsey scored 17 goals with Fulham, he has been getting better with each year, he is a very very solid striker, we are part of an American sports group so on that side it makes a lot of sense, he one the biggest names in American Football, its a solid signing ... I think he'd be a great player to have from a strong mentality point of view. We need more players with stronger minds and if they are decent players too then we'll be ok.

Or you could look at the 13 league he got the season before? You can twist the facts if you want but how many games he start ahead of Henderson for those 2 goals?

I'm a Kenny fan but my biggest critism of him was replacing Kuyt and Maxi with Downing and Henderson in the starting line up especially when neither were performing. Those pair had chipped in with 23 leagues goals the season before but always played second fiddle to the new signings.

Yep and that was boss but not much use if you come back the next season looking past it and ****, I'm not twisting anything, he was crap last season.

He started 22 league games, he was hardly left out in the cold was he?

Wasn't started in the role where he had been so sucessful for us though, think that makes a huge difference.

Dirk is gone now .. it was the right time for him to push on ... Dempsey is a different kind of player, hes an out and out striker, he scores goals in a mediocre team, his mentality is top notch, I will be happy if we sign him. Good solid piece of business, will I be drooling no ... but he will make us stronger for sure

Scoring for a mid level team though is very different to scoring for us.
Wouldn't say he was an out and out striker though.
